Feed My Sheep

When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.

Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”  This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.” (John 21:15-19)

It’s amazing how Jesus waited to feed Peter before He told him to feed His sheep. If he did not understand what it meant to be fed, he would do after breakfast. Jesus did not come all the way here to earth to complicate the message; on the contrary, He came to make it easy for us to understand, by using earthly illustrations that we are familiar with, to teach us the full essence of what God wants from His children, and how to go about doing so in love.

As we begin to fully grasp Jesus’ teaching, and become mature in them, we realise that we have a zeal to share it with others, so the kingdom of God will grow. We are all different, have different gifts, and as we share what we have, the body of Christ becomes complete with a variety of wonderful people, almost like  music, when composed to perfection. Only God can do this in His people, and He is worthy of our praise. Praise be to Our God forever and ever amen.

What to Feed Them With

“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Luke 12:32-34)

As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. (John 10:15-17)

For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God. Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified. I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel. Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me. I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:27-35)

The sheep needs food to survive, so that when the hungry wolves come to attack them, they will have strength to run and not be eaten. The shepherd needs to stop taking all the food for themselves, and share with the sheep, so they too will be nourished. Most of the shepherds are selling the food to the poor sheep who is struggling to cope, and one of these days, God will step in and remove the greedy shepherds and replace them with the TRUE SHEPHERD. Sheep, keep listening to Jesus and familiarise  your ear to hearing His voice, that when He calls you will hear and follow Him. Soon the shepherds will be gone, and we will have to learn to listen now, so we will be able to recognise the voice of Jesus amid the loud howling of the viscous hungry wolves saints. Be warned that God is going to do this, as His mouth has spoken it.

Why Are The Sheep Hungry

Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them.” ‘For thus says the Lord God: “Indeed I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day.  I will bring them out from the people and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country. (Ezekiel 34:10-13)

Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despiser of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. From such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Saints, for these reasons and more the sheep are hungry, and God is not going to stand and let it continue for long, but because He is God, he is allowing time for sinners to repent, as He does not wish anyone to perish. While there is still time, Today if you hear Him calling you, come to Him quickly, as this may be your last call. Though your sins be as scarlet, He will make them as white as snow, and even if you feel unworthy, don’t worry, I went through worse, and He forgave me, your problems are not too big for God to solve, just come and allow Him to transform you like He did many before you, and many after you. God bless you if you come, and if you are already in, take heed, lest you fall.

The True Shepherd

I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.  (John 10:14-15) My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. (John 10:27-29)

One day soon the REAL SHEPHERD will turn up and collect HIS sheep. Therefore saints, we need to be ready and waiting when this glorious day come. Hopefully we will be rejoicing to see our Shepherd and won’t be disappointed that we miss His call. Brothers and sisters, be Ready to go home soon. God bless us all.
