Word

In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things were made through Him,  without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-13

The Word was in the beginning with God as: The Word of God, God, Lord, Creator, etc… The Word has had many titles and appearances in the history of creation and as we take a closer look in the different titles and appearances given in the bible, we can fully understand the roles each of them play in our very existence. In John1 we see that The Word was God, not Jesus, or the Christ, or the Son of God. The word had equality with God then. Only after becoming God’s Son, was the name Jesus, and title Christ given to Him. He was not a Son at the beginning. In the beginning He was always God, The Word, I Am, Lord and Creator.

He appeared to Moses as the I am (Exodus 3:14) and caught his attention using a burning bush (Exodus 3:1, Mark 12:26). To Noah as a hand that shut the ark (Genesis 7:16), to Abram as an angel, to King Belshazzar as the writing on the wall (Daniel 5) and in many ways to various others. Therefore we need to understand this to continue further. God revealed Himself to many of His appointed prophets of old such as in 1 Samuel 3:21, to Samuel He was Lord: “Then the Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the Lord. Deuteronomy 30:14  Says that: “The word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it”. If it is not understood, it needs to be, otherwise this wisdom will be disposed of by fools says Proverbs 23:9. The unlearned will not understand this, so don’t waste your time trying to explain it to them. Jesus stated that no one will come to Him unless the Father draws them (John 6:44), so spend time and find out for yourself if these things are so; if it is not, reject it and when you find it is, obey it. Don’t take my word for it prove all truths.

He Became Flesh

Word becomes fleshThe Word Became Flesh  means He was a human in flesh and blood, with these titles: The only Begotten of the Father, Son of God, The anointed One, Seed of Abraham, Son of David, Emmanuel, Prince of Peace, Saviour, Redeemer, High Priest, God with us, Jesus Christ, The Son of man, etc …

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14) While He was a human being, He did not have equality with God, as He was made a little “lower than the angels” (Hebrews 2:9, Hebrews 2:7, Psalm 8:5). The Authority had been  given to Him to use on earth as He wishes, not heaven, as He prayed to God just like we do. Later (after the resurrection) was He given ALL power and Authority over heaven and earth, but while He was flesh and blood, flesh He was given authority on earth only . He came in the flesh, not in the spirit. The Spirit He received after baptism by John and led Him into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1). By then He was filled with the Spirit of God. In the wilderness, angels ministered to Him after the incident with the devil (Matthew 4:11), He fell carrying the cross and He was spat upon. He endured all this at His Father’s will, not His, making His Father grater than Him, not His equal. As a human He was not even equal to the angles, He was made lower than them. How can he be lower than the angles and equal to God? Is the angles higher than God? God forbid!

There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon,  this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel and the Holy Spirit was upon him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple.  When the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,  he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation Which You have prepared before the face of all people, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, the glory of Your people Israel”.  Joseph and His mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of Him.  Luke 2:25-33

Although Jesus said He came from the Father, He was not the only one who knew about this change Simeon knew it,  John knew (John 1:34), His disciples knew (Matthew 16:16), even the demons knew (Luke 4:41), the centurion at His crucifixion declared it (Matthew 27:54). His title was changed from God, The Word, etc to The title Son of God, like Adam was In the flesh – a human being just like you and me. Jesus actually became a human being, thus loosing all power He had before by so doing, which is why it is stated that:  “By this you know the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the FLESH is of God  and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the FLESH is not of God.  This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard was coming and is now already in the world” (1 John 4:2-3).

This is serious and need to be discussed, studied and understood, otherwise we are no different to the antichrist if we teach the same as them. Jesus was human while He was on earth, doing everything as we did, even died. God cannot and never will die. If Jesus died, then He did so as a human being, not God. The differences between us and Jesus in the flesh was: He came from heaven, He was God’s only Son,  with authority on earth (Adam loose this title when he sinned), appointed by God to be High Priest, filled with God’s Holy Spirit and He died for the salvation of us all without sinning. We sinned, but He did not. Many others had His title  revealed to them, they declared that He was who He claimed  to be and I have quoted them as witnesses below.

Many Witnesses

Witness 1  (John The Baptist) This is He of whom I said, “After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.  I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water”( John 1:30-31)  John said of Jesus that He was “before him”, yet John was born before Him, thus proving that Jesus was somewhere else before appearing to be baptised by John but where exactly? (John 1:1-14) has answered this question (heaven).

jesus_teaches_crowdsWitness 2  (The Disciples) Jesus did this as the first of His miraculous signs, in Cana of Galilee. In this way He revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. John 2:11

Witness 3  (Jesus ChristThe person who has “My commandments” and obeys them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, I will love him and will reveal Myself to him”. (John 14:21) “My commandments”? Here Jesus proved He was the one who gave Moses ‘His commandments’. By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God has sent His one and only Son into the world so that we may live through Him (1 John 4:9).

Witness 4  (Everyone) We all agree, our religion has amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory (1 Titus 3:16). By this the children of God and the children of the devil is revealed (1 John 3:10) Everyone who does not practice righteousness the one who does not love his fellow Christian is not of God. We must teach these things to the people of God so a distinction will be evident that God’s people is different. Don’t be anxious about what’s going on in the world friends. God knows who He is revealing His secrets to, so it is easy to see who has His wisdom and who have not. Don’t bother with what others are doing, it only shows who’s of God and who’s not. Don’t judge anyone, for it is God who judges them but study to show yourself approved when the time comes. By their fruits you will know them.

Jesus_127Witness 5 (God) When He had been baptised, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. Suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” ( Matthew 3:16-17).

Witness 6  (Israel) The Child kept growing and became strong in spirit, He was in the wilderness until the day He was revealed to Israel  (Luke 1:80).  He delivered the afflicted by their afflictions, He reveals Himself to them by their suffering (Job 36:15).  After He suffered and died, it became obvious to many that truly, this indeed was the Son of God. The Jews asked Peter after they realised what they had done: “What should we do” (Acts 2:37)?   By then they had put to death the Son of God in ignorance, not knowing that the Son had already asked His Father to forgive them for they did not know what they were doing (Luke 23:34). We have understand who Jesus was before and who He was as a human being, we will now study who He is now and His new Identity or Title. Do we really know? Has He got a New one? Yes He does have many titles, but His New Name? Let’s find out.

The New Name

Kings of Kings

Well, sorry I do not know this one yet. We will all be given a new name (Revelation 2:17). Jesus also will be given a new name, and till He returns we don’t know what it is unless He reveal it to someone special and that’s not me :). John explain it this way: “Dear friends, we are God’s children now and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when it is revealed we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is”  (1 John 3:2).

His name is not revealed to anyone but Himself, His title we do know and some of them are: THE WORD OF GOD, Kings of Kings and Lords of lords. There are more titles, but His name, when it is given to Him, He keeps that to Himself. Here is what John saw concerning this, so we have no doubt that it is so: “Now I saw heaven opened and behold, a white horse.  He who sat on him was called Faithful and True and in righteousness He judges and makes war.  His eyes were like a flame of fire and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.  He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood and His name is called The Word of God. The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.  Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations.  He  will rule them with a rod of iron. He  treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:11-16).

Have you noticed the Title name: “The Word of God” from the above reading? I too realise that the title He had in the beginning is the same as the one at the end, making Him the first and the last as He claimed (Revelation 1:11, Revelation 1:17, Revelation 2:8, Revelation 2:19, Revelation 22:13, Revelation 1:8),  proving He is exactly who He said He was and is: The One from Heaven.  Jesus also declared that: “All things have been given to Me by My Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal Him” (Luke 10:22). Rejoice in the degree that you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, so that when His glory is revealed you may also rejoice and be glad. Therefore,  get your minds ready for action by being fully sober and set your hope completely on the grace that will be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed (1 Peter 1:13). The glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken (Isaiah 40:5).

God has revealed these secrets to us by the Holy Spirit,  for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.  Certainly the sovereign Lord does nothing without first revealing His plan to His servants the prophets. Keep justice, do righteousness, for His salvation is about to come and His righteousness to be revealed.  On the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.  Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

The Word of God (First and Last)

God's Word

The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power  which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality,  power, might, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come (Ephesians 1:17-21). Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow; those in heaven, on earth, under the earth and  every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11).

Now we have achieve that His name is not known, be careful and don’t be deceived by false gods and christ’s who comes to you in sheep’s clothing, because if it were possible everyone would die, but for the elect’s sakes, God will shortened the days to protect His elect (Matthew 24:22, 24). God grant His Spirit to lead us and guide us into ALL TRUTH. Glory be to God indeed.
