Leave And Cleve

Jewish weddingTherefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:24
If a man has not left mother and father, how can he cleave to his wife and become one with her? To become one with your wife, you need first to leave parents, then cleave to the wife. You cannot hold on to both of them; you will not become one with anyone if you hang on to all of the others. If you are not ready to leave and cleave, then you are not ready for marriage. The relationship will be very difficult for both families if this is the case. God knows what He is talking about when He said leave, so examine yourself before you get marriage: Have you left parents? Are you able to cope on your own? Can you cleave and become one? If the answer to all three questions is yes, then you are on the right track. You’re already married but you feel the same pressure; well the same applies. It’s never too late to leave and cleave, so I suggest you do so now before it’s too late. God bless you as you leave and cleave.
