Help My Unbelief

jesus-the-good-shepherdJesus asked his father: How long has this been happening to him? He said: from childhood. And it has often cast him into fire and into water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us. Jesus said to him: If you can? All things are possible for one who believes. Immediately the father of the child cried out and said: I believe; help my unbelief! When Jesus saw that a crowd came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit saying to it: You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again. (Mark 9:21-25)

Many times we find ourselves in situations where we don’t understand why we suffer or go through difficult circumstances in our daily lives and sometimes ask why me? Our fears causes us to doubt and question our faith in God and many times we may find ourselves begging Him to forgive our unbelief. We are not immune to sin because we are christians. We are so burdened down with stress, that we push ourselves in a corner and don’t realise that God is there to protect us from all evil and deliver us from it. After this father’s experience with his son, let us remember that despite his unbelief, Jesus still commanded the demons to leave his son and never come back. Whatever your ‘demons’, He is still able to command them to flee from you and never return. Have faith in God because nothing is impossible for Him, do you believe? God bless you.
