Grow Into Maturity

Let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment (Hebrews 6:1-2). Solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil (Hebrews 5:14). Can you tell the difference between good and evil? Are you regularly being trained to do so? If you continue in this, one day you will be able to distinguish between good and evil, and choose the good. Solid food cannot be given to babies, it has to be given to adults; milk is given to babies.

If you are to mature in your christian life, you need to progress onto solid food. At certain points in your walk, milk will not be sufficient to sustain you. A boost is needed to progress to solid food gradually, until you are familiar with it to enable you to grow into maturity. There is a lot to learn and time is short, therefore put away childish things and allow your mind to be renewed to enable you to adopt a mature way of learning and living. It will prepare you for life in the heavenly realm and help you grow and progress in your christian lifestyle. Enough of the same old stuff, now it is time to move into more important lessons to deepen your relationship with God. Taking in accurate knowledge of God is important, and knowing how He wants you to live is vital. You are being made ready to live in a heavenly Kingdom so you need to learn how to be a prince/princess and how to conduct your life as a child of the King. Now you are a child of the King, He requires you live in a certain way; that is to reflect His character, not the world’s. great growdDo you know that as a child of God, His kingdom is already within you? You need to wear special garments also, or you will be found undressed when Jesus returns, do you know what to wear? Are you dressed for this kingdom? Well, all these you need to be familiar with, although you may find that much learning wearies the mind, it is important you know what to learn and do so gradually. It needs to be in unity with Kingdom rules, therefore He has teachers in place to teach us kingdom principles and values. We need to live by the standard that brings respect and obedience to the King, otherwise we will not be allowed in His home. Would you welcome someone into you home who disrespect you? Why should God do it?

How does one prepare to live in such a kingdom? There are training involved, and one needs to be trained by one who’s lived there, know the rules and able to teach it the way that pleases the King. The Holy Spirit has been approved by the King and His Son and He is speaking to the children of God today. He has a lot to say to them, and they need to hear Him, obey Him and be lead by Him.  Can we hear Him? Listen to what He has to say, as He is the only one teaching, leading, marking and sealing the people of God for life in this kingdom. The Holy Spirit is the one who will bring us into maturity, and it is vital we hear, and obey His voice, because without His teaching, we don’t stand a chance in God’s kingdom. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who conquers will not be hurt by the second death (Revelation 2:11). These are important instructions from God’s Spirit to His people, listen quietly, hear His instructions, meditate on them and obey it, so you will not be hurt by the second death. He is the one who raised Christ from the dead, learn quietly and attentively so that you are growing into maturity by Him. When He marks and seal you for survival, will you receive the everlasting life that only comes from God through His Son. Strive to be lead by the Spirit of God, into maturity, so you too will be worthy to enter into the kingdom, promised to all those who love and obey God and His Son. God bless you.
