As a child of God, your journey is not easy, and you need to stay alert, focussed and keep watch, because you cannot see your enemy. Your enemy is not flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12), and He is very cunning. His plan is to steal, kill and destroy you at all cost, because you have something he wants. He is jealous of you giving worship to God and not him. He will kill you if he gets the chance, this is why you need to stay focused on your journey. There’s a danger of looking behind you, so your eyes has to be fixed forward, looking for the finishing line. Until you see it, keep going forward. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you (Proverbs 4:25). If satan went after Jesus Christ to tempt Him, he will go after you also.
Moses kept moaning to God about the people of Israel, and He told Him: “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward (Exodus 14:15). Ezekiel had the same instruction (Ezekiel 1:12) so were the early christians, it is safe to say that we too, need to stop looking back, forget what is behind and look forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13-14). If we stay focused, the enemy will not find us un-prepared. He knows that his time is short, so he will try every trick to get us to fail, but God did not leave us powerless. He has equipped us to live through it all, and it is up to us to follow His instruction to the tee.
This is why we are given special instructions from above to conquer the enemy. We have the authority to fight and win, we have the weapon to fight, and it is capable of pulling down his strong-hold. As a child of God you have already won the battle don’t let his tricks change your direction. You are moving forward, so look in the direction you are going. Whatever is behind you is not your business, what is in front of you is, so look in front of you because that’s where God put your eyes. If He wanted you to look back, He would have given you eyes at the back of your head. Meditate on His precepts and fix your eyes on Him always. God bless you.
