Everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure (1 John 3:3). Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God (1 Peter 1:22-23). God wants His children to live a pure life because He wants His children to see Him as He really is. The impure will not see God, so it is very important as children of God, we continue to live pure, so His character will be seen in us. We will be presented to Christ as a pure virgin so obedience to the truth helps us to do focus on pure things. Women and men, children and youth, we all need to learn to think pure thoughts, live pure lives, and love for one another. This teaching enables the members of God’s family to behave appropriately, to be self-controlled, to practise obedience to God, maintaining our faith in God and to live in peace with one another, so God’s word may not be reviled because of our bad conduct.
As children of God, let us all purify ourselves, so that even if some do not obey the word of God, they may be won without a word by our respectful and pure conduct. Do not let the way you live influence others as a stumbling block but live as a good example, so it will be pleasing to God and those who look to you for help. God has chosen you as His child, make His heart rejoice by your good conduct, because He has given to you so much of His time, His love, His son and it would be really good if when He comes to live with you, He finds you a worker who will not be ashamed, or undressed, but will hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:21). God bless you.
