Jesus said to him: The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you. For He knew who was to betray Him; that was why He said: Not all of you are clean (John 13:10-11). Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me (John 15:3-5). What cleanses them was the words that Jesus spoke to them! Wow! In other words, if the words of Jesus is not spoken or taught to you, you are not clean! Well, He said many things, what words is He talking about?
Jesus said that He is the bread of life, abide in Him, to understand this we need to study what He taught and obey it. There is nothing difficult about this. If we do not know what He said, how do we get cleaned by it? It is really important that you hear what Jesus had to say, abide in Him and obey it, because it is the difference between life and death, clean and unclean. His teaching came with authority from God, and cleanses with power, those who obey it. Jesus lived what He preached, He demonstrated it, He taught it, and died because of it. Whoever reject His teaching is unclean! There’s no other way of saying it. If His words does not abide in you, you will have no part with Him. He’s the vine, if you are a bad branch, you will be cut off. It’s as simple as that!
When a plant are pruned, it will be painful cutting it, but there’s a change after that; it will grow again, but stronger and healthier breaking much crop. if you are cut off, be careful that you may well be making space for another. After He cleanses you, stay clean. Be careful that you you do not continue to contaminate yourself by conforming to the world’s custom. Let Jesus’ word transform you, melt you, mould you and clean you so you can bear good fruits. Stay clean, you are thoroughly washed.God bless you.
