It (the kingdom of heaven) will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. Matthew 25:14-30 God has entrusted His property into our care and went away for a little while, are we investing it wisely, or have we buried it in a hole? What reward will He give us when He returns? Will He be able to say that we have been faithful with little have dominion over much? Can we be trusted with His property? Jesus left His apostles commanding they to make disciples of all nations. They have fulfilled this commandment, and the world are full of disciples, but where are they? What are the disciples they made doing? Have they lost their first love? Are they strong and continue faithfully despite the difficulty, or have they forgotten what their purposes are? God is looking, He can see, hear and He knows what’s going on, and one day He will return for His investment.
If you are not making a profit with what He gave you, it will be taken from you and given to some who has made profit. It is no good putting in a whole, it needs to grow, at least put it in the bank even if the profit is little. God is accepting a profit, so be careful that the talent He gave you is so doing. The talent is whatever gifts God has given to you. It could be riches, don’t be selfish about it. It could be helping others, It may well be a teacher, teach well, May be it is fishing, fish well. Every talent you receive from God, must be used to His glory instead of sitting idle doing nothing with it. Find out what you are good at and start with it. Pray to God to show you what it is that He is trusting you with and equip you to invest it wisely to His glory. You will see and understand what He wants you to do and every thing you accomplish will be successful, because you are doing exactly what He called you to do. You cannot fail because He is the power that drives it.
God will return to examine your work and His ward is with Him to give every according to their works. H will not take kindly with the one who has done nothing, so take heed that your talent has multiplied and that you have made a profit. What business man would lend his money and don’t expect a profit? When God returned, will He be able to trust you with much more? Something to think about. As you live today, make sure that the talent God gave you is making profit. God bless.
