Look After God’s Temple

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). This temple God is talking about is not ours to do as we please with it. God's templeHe paid a very high price for it; His Son’s blood paid for this temple, and this temple is a dwelling for His Spirit to dwell. Next time you look at that temple in the mirror, look closely and remember to take good care of it. It is borrowed to you, and you are responsible to take good care of it. Do not let it be left unsupervised, so others can steal it and abuse it, do a good job with it so God will be happy that your responsibilities are taken seriously.

God entrusted the temple in your care, do a good job so when Jesus returns, He may find you looking after it well. Make sure you do not allow anything that will destroy it, or defile it enter in it. Don’t give other people permission to use it in a way that displeases God. Find out what God wants you to do with it and obey the instruction manual word by word. Avoid any unnecessary arguments that causes the temple to be defiled, because a Holy Spirit dwell in it. Because you have died to it, you don’t have a right to it, it is only God’s as long as God’s Spirit is in control of it. Someone needs to control it but not you. If God’s Spirit does not control it, satan will claim it, and hell will be let loose in that temple! Be watchful who you give authority over this temple, because whoever you allow inside will rule! Continue to keep it clean and tidy, because the one who cleaned it, went through a miserable death to do so. God grant that you will remember this, as you continue to let His Spirit control it, and guard it.

If you continue in it, God said you become one with it. We belong to God, therefore we should not give ourselves to another to become one with them, meaning outside of marriage.

What are the repercussions of adultery, since it is a sin against your own body. I’ve never really understood that part besides from the obvious such a sexually transmitted diseases.
