After His resurrection, Jesus Christ stated that He has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). God gave Him this authority, and He gives it to whomever He chooses. If anyone has authority on earth, God gave it to them through His Son, no one else. What they choose to do with this authority is their choice. They can either use it to do good, or evil, but they will answer to God for everything that they do with it, because it was not theirs in the first place. Be careful what you do with the authority you are given. You too will be rewarded for what you did with it, wether it be good or evil (2 John 1:8). Therefore no one can say that they have authority from God, if Jesus Christ has not given it to them, because God has given to Him all the authority to give to anyone He wants to (Luke 10:22). Take a look at the authority you have and answer the question honestly: Are you using it to the glory of God or for selfish gain? If you are not doing what you should be with it, there is still time to turn it around. God is waiting for us to return to Him in repentance so He can forgive us and set us straight to do what His will is. As you go about your business today, remember where you got your life, authority, and gifts from, let Him be glorified by the way you use your life daily. God bless you.
