Free From The Law Of Moses

the lawLet it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you and by Him everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses (Acts 13:38-39). For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2. If this is the case, why are we still burdened with the laws that we have been set free from? They continue to burden the children of God for because their “veil” has not been removed, but Jesus has taken the veil from our eyes, so we can see clearly (2 Corinthians 3:1-16).

Jesus fulfilled all the commandments God Gave to Moses. Only AFTER he FULFILLED it, Could it pass. The law could not pass TILL “IT IS FULFILLED”, Jesus fulfilled them all, by obeying them all, that’s why it can pass. The “NEW COMMANDMENT (John 13:34) He talked about is NOT The ones Moses had, It’s the 2 Greatest Commandments (Love God and Love neighbour) that replaces the OLD. The old has been fulfilled by Jesus, the New has to be fulfilled by us. Against them, there is NO LAW (Galatians 5:22-23).  and again If you keep all the commandments and have not LOVE, it means nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). The Key is LOVE. The rich young ruler indeed kept all the commandments from youth, yet,  he lacked one thing (Mark 10:17-21). Everything we do must be done in LOVE. (Romans 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law). There is a NEW COMMANDMENT and this is the LAW and it is not written on Stones, but hearts and minds. The laws of Jesus replaces the Laws of Moses, and is the better covenant (Hebrews 7:18-22). The Law is written on our hearts and minds (2 Corinthians 3:3), so we don’t need anyone to tell us how to keep it. The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth, (John 16:13) and He will not let us disobey God’s law, so Let Him do His job. No one who are born of God practice sinning (1 John 3:9), so Let God be the judge whether people are breaking His laws or not. The “old commandments was God’s give to Moses, but this “new commandment” is God’s, given to Jesus Christ, time that is why Jesus called it His commandment (John 14:15), not Moses. if you love Him keep HIS COMMANDMENT. This one is not on a stone, Jesus wrote it on your heart.

Instructions given to the Gentile Christians: ” (Acts 15:22-35). The instructions were not to burden God’s  people with Jewish laws which they themselves could not keep (Acts 15:10-11). If you continue in the instructions Jesus left with His Apostles, you will do well. “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery” (Galatians 5:1 ). God be with your spirit.

Thank you for your verses. I read them and am always uplifted. But as I am a sinner I look for true meaning in everything I read in the Bible. This is an interesting topic because, as I read the whole Bible, I am learning to understand how God supported the Israelites for so long but finally lost patience with them. He sent his only son to die for us – all of us – and it also says in Acts that Paul went out to preach to the Gentiles to bring them to the true church. It also says the early church were free from some of the law of the Jews as you have written. But, the point that always interests me is it never says all of the law is not to be followed. God gave the Ten Commandments to the Israelites as they were his people but the Ten Commandments have never been done away with. Too many people believe that Paul was telling the early church they did not need to follow the law of the Jews but he never said do not follow the law of God. Therefore, he never said you can kill or steal but the point that interests me is that the church today seems to ignore the Ten Commandments. I apologise if this offends anybody but I believe if we are going to believe in the Bible we need to believe in the whole Bible not the parts that make us feel good. Graeme
