Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while (Revelation 20:1-3). The time for Satan to be thrown into the bottomless pit is sooner than we think. He knows that the time is nearer than before, so his fury has intensified towards God’s people (Revelation 12:12)! The bottomless pit will be Satan’s home for one thousand years (Revelation 20:1-3), and he is not looking forward to that. He is causing havoc on earth because he knows where he is going soon.
He can see the place where he will be locked-in for the thousand years, and he is dreading it. In there he will not be able to do as he please, he will not be able to deceive anyone, and his position will be lowered more and more. The place where he is sent has no bottom, therefore he will be lower than anyone or anything else. He was made lower when cast out of heaven (Revelation 12:7-12), and he will be worse when he is cast out of the earth. This is what’s making him so angry, because he sees us occupying the places he wished he was in charge of. Do you think he is going without a fight? No, he will not, but the angel with the key to the bottomless pit has power over him, and he will be bought lower still. When you see the wickedness around you, don’t ask what is God doing. Instead remember who is causing chaos around you, and why. It is the devil causing wickedness, but God has made plans to stop him (Revelation 20:7-10).
Children of God, we need to keep watch, and remember what God tells us. Satan knew his end but can now see his fate, and he is angry with us for rejecting him and his system. Keep a look out for the fiery darts he will be throwing at you, so you can use the whole armour of God to conquer him every time (Ephesians 6:10-20). Remember what you have been told (Revelation 3:3). Satan knows where God is throwing him, and he will not go there willingly, this is why you need to remain vigilant because he’s going about like a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8) and if he find you in a weak state, he will devour you. He won’t spare you, so keep strong, and remain faithful to the end, and you will get the crown of life (Revelation 2:10), prepared for you from the foundation of the earth. Do not fear, as long as Satan knows about, and can see the bottomless pit, you can be sure, he will be thrown in it! Then we can continue to live in peace, by the grace of God. God bless you.
