We are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:12-17
Examine yourself: Are you familiar with the instructions in Romans 8? Then Compare it with the way you live and see if your lifestyle is compatible with it. This will indicate to you whether you are living consistently with the instructions given in there. You need to follow the instructions carefully, so your life is not conformed to this world, but being transformed by the renewal of your mind (Romans 12:2). It needs to be in tuned with the word of God (Hebrews 4:12), and be led by His Spirit (Romans 8:14). Only by this will you be fully equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Spirit of God needs to be living in you, and doing whatever transformation is needed, so that you are able to function the way you should, as a child of God. I am fed-up of living a life that is not worthy of anything!
Life without the Spirit of God ends up in death (Revelation 21:8), and brings all sort of sorrows with it while you wait for the final destruction; but life in the Spirit begins with death (Romans 6:10,Revelation 20:6), and brings lasting benefits, such as: love, joy peace, long-suffering (Galatians 5:22-23), ect…, and at the end, eternal life (Romans 8:11). Who would not rather a peaceful life? That too comes at a cost! The cost? Death (Romans 6:23)! Death to the flesh, and life in the Spirit of God has to take place for us to be called children of God. You cannot have both (Matthew 6:24). Now that you know the difference, make your choice. My choose is life, that me and my descendants may live. What about you? If you choose life in the flesh, you will be responsible for the consequences, but if you choose life in God’s Spirit, The dept has been paid and this is what you need to do: accept that He paid it for you, Ask Him to enter your life and from now till eternity: Depend on the Spirit of God, to guide you through the process.
Without Christ, you will fail, you need to ask God for His Spirit also, through His Son Jesus Christ. Then He will be a witness that you are indeed a child of God (Romans 8:16). That Spirit is from God, and when He is in control, you have nothing to worry about (1 Corinthians 2:12). All He has to say to you is free and accurate, because He is the Spirit of truth (John 16:13), so I am in good hands, thank God. Many are “coming out”, but not so for me! I am “staying in” led by a “quiet and gentle Spirit (1 Peter 3:3-4)”, as I have nothing to say. The Holy Spirit is the one speaking, and I am the one listening to every word (Revelation 3:1-6) and learning in silence (1 Timothy 2:11). I am guided by the Spirit of truth, and saturated by Him, I am silence in the presence of God (Habakkuk 2:20). Are you? If you need to “come out”, make sure it is from the world you are coming out of (Revelation 18:4), not from His Spirit!
God will not refuse you, if you ask for His Spirit (Luke 11:13, James 1:17), because He is a good gift, and He knows without His Spirit, you will not be able to live a life to please Him. This is why Jesus sent Him to us when He went to heaven. There is no time like the present, if you are going about your business without the Holy Spirit, ask God through Christ to send Him to live in you. When He shows up, open the door of your heart and let Him in. As soon as He enters, Give Him full control, and He will do what is necessary to transform you into the child of God that you should be, and seal you for eternal life (Ephesians 4:30). If you hear His voice, listen, obey Him and you will not be the same again, ever! To the glory of God our Father, be free to live as happy as you can, guided by His Spirit, until Christ returns to reveal Himself to you (Luke 17:28-30). You are surrounded by such a cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1), do not fail them. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ! Neither am I phased by those who opposed to it (Proverbs 20:22). God will repay (Lamentations 3:64) and He will sit as Judge (Matthew 19:28, Revelation 20:4). To Him be the glory now and forever more. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:1-6). God be with you, as we continue to maturity in His presence. Amen.
