You Belong To Christ

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him (Romans 8:9). After you have receive the Spirit of God, He teaches you how to live to please God. With wisdom and maturity we gradually become like our saviour Jesus christ, and our Christian journey begins. potter-and-clayWe are living a life now that are much more manageable, peaceful, and directed heavenward, not earthly.

Led by the Spirit of God, we are living a very different life, sin becomes our enemy, and we begin to hate it and don’t want to have anything to do with it.   Our friends begin to think that we are weird, because we no longer show interest in the things we use to, and we do not participate in thing dirty jokes, or laugh at the insulting jokes any more. We become separated from the things of the world, we feel drained by them and we try to find like-minded people. We go to church to find people who understand us, but when we get there, some people look at us as if we do not belong either, so we struggle to fit in.

Jesus_082In our attempt to do the ‘right thing’ we loose focus on who matters, and begin to sink, but God is watching, because it is before Him you stand, or fall. Just because we are a children of God and in His family doesn’t mean we have made it! We belong to God, and we are to depend on Him in every situation, not only when things are going right. When things happen (Good or bad), we must know who our Father is, and who we are in Him. We need to be constantly in communion with Him in good and in bad times.

Too often, we forget who God is when something bad happens, and begin to question Him; but when something good happens, that’s the time we turn our attention to Him. God is always God, even if we mourn about our woes, it will not change who He is.  Next time you say anything about God, remember you belong to Him and His Son. In every situation, please, humble yourself before your creator, because He is the Potter, you are the clay, not the other way round. God bless you.
