This is He who came by water and blood; Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and these three agree. 1 John 5:6-8
Witness 1: The Father’s Voice (John 4:24, Matthew 3:16-17). God is Spirit, and those who worship Him, must do so in spirit and in truth, and He announced that Jesus is His Son, and many who were present heard His testimony
Witness 2: The Holy Spirit as a dove (John 4:13-15). The Holy Spirit is represented as water of life, and He too was the one who led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He was also the one who gave life to Jesus’ dead body, and is called a life giving Spirit.
Witness 3: The Son of God as flesh (John 8:56-58). Jesus was sentenced to death because He told the truth that He was before Abraham, the Son of God, I AM etc.
These three testimonies are just one of many proofs, that Jesus is who He says He is (3 heavenly witnesses). “Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses” (1 Timothy 5:19). The laws of Moses was not broken by Him, yet even after three testimonies, He was not taken seriously. God is waiting for us to bear witness to the things that we see in every generation. When you see these things that Jesus testified about; take it seriously, and let Him guide you into all truth, through His Holy Spirit. God bless you.
