Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Sometimes when you feel like God is not there, that’s the time He listens to everything we have to say. He is a father like none other, and He spends time, quality time with each and every one of us to comfort and brings peace. We need to know He is always there especially when we need Him most. God came through so many time for us that sometimes we ask: why? Why are we still here? The answer is always: God has a plan and it is the better one, not ours. There is still work to do, and time is going fast, so work with faith, knowing that the Master is in control, and you are not alone, He is right there with you. God grant us faith, peace and comfort to wait on Your timing to bring us through whatever situation we find ourselves in.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Romans 13:1 (ESV)
We are to obey these authorities and not oppose them. We are told the reason they are there is for us to be subject to them (1 Peter 2:13-14) not to oppose them. If we don’t know how to respect the authorities that God has put in place here on earth, how are we going to have any respect to His heavenly authorities? We are here to learn to submit to God’s authorities, and as we learn in humility, we will be equipped to do so forever. This is just a school lesson we are being taught, so when we “graduate” here under the earthly authorities, we will be ready to submit to the “Final authority” soon to come. Children of God, He has placed us under His authorities, let us learn to submit to them and learn the lessons well, so we may inherit the blessing that comes to those who obey. Jesus has shown us what it means to submit to God’s authority, by becoming a human being and die a death that none other has endured. With everything He went through, He never grasp on the equality (Philippians 2:5-7) He once had, but in full submission, He cried: “Not My will, but Your will be done” (Luke 22:41-42)”! This is total submission. After His submission, God gave Him all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). Even with all authority, He remains submitted to His Father (John 14:16-17, 1 Corinthians 15:23-24).
There are authorities in church also, yes, God put them (Holy Spirit, Elders) (John 14:16-17, Hebrews 13:17) in place, and we need to submit to them as to the Lord. There are also authorities at home (1 Corinthians 11:3), we need to submit to them. God is teaching us to submit to Himself in everything we do, because He is the one who place us under these authorities. Wives submit to your husbands (Ephesians 5:22), Members submit to the elders/leaders (Hebrews 13:17 ), children submit to your parents (Ephesians 6:1), Young women submit to the older women (Titus 2:1-5) and everyone submit to the government God place in authority over us (Romans 13:1). If we do not submit now, we will not then. If we are faithful in little, we will be faithful in much (Luke 16:10). If we refuse to submit willingly now, we will do so by force, but we will all submit to God’s Final authority.
There is a Final Authority coming, and when He comes to power, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is LORD, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:8-11). God gave Him this authority and one day soon, He will take His place and rule. Jesus Christ is that final authority and of His kingdom there is NO END (Luke 1:32-33). Today we have earthly authorities all around us, and they are in place because God put them there. May God teach us with the help of His Holy Spirit to submit to His governing authorities.
I am still learning to submit, and I know when you understand it, it will all make sense to you as it did to me. God bless us as we submit to His authorities.
Matthew 9:20-21 And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of his garment, If I only touch His garment, I will be made well.
Many times we see how we ought to copy the stories of old and sometimes we just cannot do it, but Jesus is still listening for us and he wants us to use that little faith He gave us. We see many more stories of great faith and we wonder can I have such faith? Yes, you can! Faith has been given to us and unless we begin to use it we will never know how much it can grow, because it grows as you use it. One faith after another, one blessing after another and you begin to grow and grow more as you remember one by one what happen after each work of faith. Works and faith goes together so use the little you have and the cup will not run dry.
In the scripture above the women thought about what act she was going to make before she actually touched Jesus’ garment. Give it thought, pray and go and do exactly what Jesus prompt you to do, because we are equipped to do anything He asked us to do. God be with you as you experience faith in Him.
