Psalm 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Well, how comes the saints are starving today, and their leaders are so rich? Jesus did NOT give this example. When He fed the 5,000, ALL ate the same thing, not some. If the members are paying the tenth, why do they still have to buy the teachings of God? It does not make sense. Now how are we going to solve this? By following Jesus’ example. On the pulpit they preach increase, but the members are still poor. Well what’s wrong with the summons? I’ll tell you what. They do it in God’s name because they deceive many that way.

Today’s Storehouse? (man-made)

 2 Timothy 3:1-5  Know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despiser of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure and not lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Now back to the tenth: It is supposed to be brought into the store-house to feed the priest. I thought that Jesus IS our ONLY HIGH PRIEST today and forever. So therefore anyone who claim to receive the tenth should be a priest yes? Is there priest today? Lets see:

Hebrews 7:28  For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son (ONE) who has been perfected forever.

Jesus commanded the Apostles to make DISCIPLES of ALL nations (Matthew 28:19). When He said disciples I think He meant disciples, and not priests. He also commanded that they call NO One father, teacher, rabbi or lord it over the saints (Matthew 23:8-9). He washed their feet, signifying that there should be equality among all, and that the least be the greatest (John 13:12-14), so when the members bring the tenth to “the storehouse”, where is the priest to receive it? Be careful who you give your tenth to, as there is ONLY ONE Priest, and that is JESUSCHRIST (Hebrews 7:28).
Did He asked anyone to collect tithe for Him? Where? I would like to know. The tenth should supply the house of God with food. Well, what are you doing with the food bought in the storehouse? Remember if you are NOT a priest, or a Levi, you cannot collect God’s tenth (Hebrews 7:5-10), as God chose who He wanted to collect it  (Numbers 18:24), before the law (Hebrews 7:28). Be warned. You will have to give an account.

Nehemiah 10:34-38  We cast lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for bringing the wood offering into the house of our God, according to our fathers’ houses, at the appointed times year by year, to burn on the altar of the LORD our God as it iswritten in the Law. 35 We made ordinances to bring the first fruits of our ground and the first fruits of all fruit of all trees, year by year, to the house of the LORD. 36 The firstborn of our sons and our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstborn of our herds and our flocks, to the house of our God.

To the priests who minister in the house of our God, 37 bring the first fruits of our dough, our offerings, the fruit from all kinds of trees, the new wine and oil, to the priests, to the storerooms of the house of our God; and to bring the tithes of our land to the Levites, for the Levites should receive the tithes in all our farming communities. 38 And the priest, the descendant of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive tithes; and the Levites shall bring up a tenth of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms of the storehouse.

Nehemiah 12:44-45  And at the same time some were appointed over the rooms of the storehouse for the offerings, the first fruits, and the tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions specified by the Law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who ministered. 45 Both the singers and the gatekeepers kept the charge of their God and the charge of the purification, according to the command of David and Solomon his son.
Is Tithe money? Was it ever money? Was money bought into the storehouse? Examine the tithe.

Nehemiah 13:12  Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the storehouse.

Malachi 3:10  Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the LORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Leviticus 27:30  And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD.

Leviticus 27:32  And about the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD.

Numbers 18:21  “Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting.

Numbers 18:24  For the tithes of the children of Israel, which they offer up as a heave offering to the LORD, I have given to the Levites as an inheritance; therefore I have said to them, ‘Among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.’

Food in the storehouse- (God’s Creation)

Deuteronomy 14:23  And you shall eat before the LORD your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always.

Deuteronomy 14:24-26  But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the LORD your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the LORD your God has blessed you, 25 then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the LORD your God chooses. 26 And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.

What’s in the storehouse? Money? At what cost? (Man-made)

Tithe is a product of God’s creation, and as one partake of it, the glory is given to the creator who provided it. Now it is replaced with the giving of man-made money. How will God accept it as an offering? It is an insult to offer to God a man-made product called money, when what He desire is that we admire HIS creativity. It’s amazing how the 10 commandments is not binding today, but a tenth of your income is! Its one of the laws aren’t it?  Let us stop putting un-necessary burdens on the poor saints, and feed them with the GOSPEL OF TRUTH.
OUCH!  It may hit hard, but turn around and lead with foundation that is already laid! Oh well, I’m saying this with love, as I see poor people in the church, and this is not right. 22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’— 24 except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.”

If Jesus comes today, will he find food in the storehouse? Be careful what you collect in the storehouse. Let the spirit of God lead each one into all truth. People who pay tithe should not be poor. The store house is responsible to feed the poor, not the other way around. These days, to get a really good preaching of the gospel, one hast to pay for it, as well as offering, and the paying of tithe. THIS IS WRONG! and it is NOT GOD’S DOING, nor has HE authorised it.
The flock is dying of hunger, while leaders are boasting of having a plane in their back yard. What’s going on? Do I have a plane in my back yard? NO! Jesus never had a back yard, let alone a plane (Matthew 8:20). What Jesus taught was while He was around, no one would have needs, as He supplied them all. Now not so. Oh Well!

What did Jesus say about tithe? Did He change it?  Matthew 5:17  “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil. Matthew 23:23  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Is This In your storehouse ?
Is your sheep fed or hungry
while you have your fill? Go find out.
Hebrews 7:5-10   And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; 6 but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises. 7 Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better. 8 Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives. 9 Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak, 10 for he was still in the loins of his father when Melchizedek met him. Are you a priest? (who appointed you? God?)

It used to be:  James 5:13-16-Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
16 Confess your trespasses  to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. The flock has a problem, they go to the elders, why is it so difficult to get help from the elders these days? Simply their interests are elsewhere. 
Luke 9:46-48  Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. 47 And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, 48 and said to them,“Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.”

Why has it become all about money? Here’s why. to fulfil prophecy. (man-made)

Hebrews 6:19-20  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

1 Samuel 2:35  Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.

    As the article is about tithe, I will stick to the subject, but try and make it clear to you. I do not suggest what the bible says, I only quote it. Tithe and first fruits are not the same thing, first fruits has always been an offering to God, and not to the priest, as it is offered as a burnt offering, and not to the priest for food. Hope this helps . Cain and Abel offered a sacrifice to God, not tithe, as there were no priest then (Genesis 4:4-5). Abraham was the first person who gave tithe, not cain and Abel as you thought Sherma. No tithe was given before Abram did.Thank you for your comment, and God bless.

    Wow, great blog Shirl, You spoke about the first person who gave Thithe was Abram but I’m not sure. What would you call what Cain and Abel offered up to God. Wasn’t it the firstfruit Abel offered up to God? Not sure if relates in what the blog is about.

    Guess what I found last night – Proverbs 3:9-10. 9: Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine. – I’ve been so faithful with my Thithe over the years.
    I have one question for you. What would you consider firstfruits nowadays considering the fact that we no longer have barns and storehouses or Priest to present it to?
