Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know; Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. Acts 2:22-24
Today we prepare to celebrate a very special victory. It is that of Jesus Christ. He won the victory over death and the grave. Because of a season like this easter one, we are welcome to go boldly to the thrown of grace to receive mercy for our sins. As we continue to live victoriously in our renewed life, let us consider what Christ went through to enable all this to be possible. May He come to find us faithfully waiting for Him, so we all may dwell in His Father’s mansion really soon.
As we celebrate with friends and family, remind them that the reason we are so happy now. It’s not only because someone was killed, but that God rose Him from the dead, to show that this certainly was His Son, and it was this death, burial and resurrection that made it possible for us to be reconciled with God again, proving that without it, we would be doomed.
We certainly have a lot to celebrate, as our very salvation depends on it. God be praised indeed!
Let us all shout with joy in saying together: “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? (1 Corinthians 15:55) This same Jesus, is the reason we are so happy, and celebrating the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. He is no longer powerless on a cross, but sitting on God’s right hand, waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool. Glory be to the Living God!
May God continue to bless our journey, keep us on the narrow way, be able to stand before His Son and dine with the host of heaven when He returns to take us home. Our labour may be difficult now, the road may be rough, the storm may seem never-ending, but hold on to your shaky legs saints, He will not delay. Help is on its way. God bless.
