Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight (Romans 12:16). Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall (1 Corinthians 10:12). We may feel that we are better than anyone else because we are christians, not so! You remembered the rich man who came to Jesus saying that he kept all the laws from childhood? What did He said to him? Go sell all you have and give it to the poor! Ah well, this must have been a very difficult thing to do as this man was very rich (Matthew 19:16-30).
Be careful how you see yourself, try to be humble instead of thinking too highly of yourself and end up being humbled like we see earlier. Humble yourself before God and He will uplift you. Jesus spoke of many examples of how you should behave among our neighbours, lest your light turn into darkness (Luke 11:35). Let us make sure as children of God, we are not pushing people away from Christ by the way we live, instead show that we really are children of a Might God wherever we go, by good conduct.
My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say: You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man: You stand over there, or, Sit down at my feet, have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? (James 2:1-4). May God continue to teach us in the way we should go: to show no partiality, but associate with the lowly. God bless.
